Inter have targeted Lukaku’s replacement

The management of Inter Milan no longer believe too much in Lukaku and would be ready to replace him with another striker.

Inter Milan are considering betting on Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino as an alternative to Romelu Lukaku. The latter no longer manages to meet expectations in Lombardy.

A Brazilian to replace Lukaku?

Lukaku, on loan from Chelsea to Inter, is struggling to regain his form of two years ago. According to TMW news outlet, Inter chairman Steven Zhang are considering giving up the permanent option of Lukaku and betting instead on signing the Brazilian striker from Liverpool.

The Auriverde international is out of contract in June and would represent a much cheaper alternative to the Belgian. The former Hoffenheim is also no longer too desired on the side of the Mersey. This season, manager Jurgen Klopp only calls on him in the event of a defection in the attacking sector.

If he joins the Nerazzurri, Firmino will try to do better than the last Brazilian striker passed by this club, in this case Gabriel Barbosa. The idea would rather be to imitate Imperatore Adriano, author of a successful stint at San Siro in the mid-2000s.
