Second in the standings before this weekend, Angers was corrected by FC Nantes (1-4) in the Western derby.
The return to earth is brutal. PSG runner-up before this weekend, and undefeated since the start of the season, Angers fell heavily in front of FC Nantes (1-4), this Sunday, in one of the many derbies of this 6th day of Ligue 1.
Like last season, for Antoine KombouarΓ©’s very first match on the Canaries bench, FCN led 2-0 after only 7 minutes of play on his neighbor’s field. After Andrei Girotto’s header (0-1, 3rd), Ludovic Blas doubled the stake on a penalty obtained by the untenable Randal Kolo Muani (0-2, 6th).
The Angevins however reacted on a header from Ismael TraorΓ© (1-2, 10th), but Alban Lafont put an end to the revolt of the SCO by releasing two exceptional parades in front of Fulgini (20th) and Cabot (37th). And in the meantime, Kolo Muani had tripled the stake for FCN, with a superb technical sequence in the penalty area (1-3, 23rd).
The Nantes festival continued with a nice service from Kolo Muani for Blas (1-4, 79th), in order to give more relief to the success of the Canaries, and to the awakening of the attack from their attack. The FCN remained on three matches without a goal, but in the group there were two encouraging encounters against Lyon (0-1) and Nice (0-2). The goals that did not come against OL and the Aiglons all came against Angers, with 4 goals out of 4 shots blocked.
