Note 16/20

Generous in terms of fan service, endowed with complementary scripted modes and gameplay ideas that blend well with the style of the original work, Rise of New Champions is a good Captain Tsubasa game, but in some ways it forgets to be a good soccer game. And that’s a shame, because in view of the bases at its disposal, it probably does not lack much to be already more convincing on the length. A little more clarity on the potential of successful strikes, a rebalancing of the automatic change of players after a pass or a real new camera angle would not have been too much. Fans of the license will find, however, a title respectful of the original work capable of offering a few multiplayer games rich in twists and several hours of very pleasant games with its scripted modes.
