Obi-Wan Kenobi: A New Jedi or a New Sith in the Star Wars Universe?

News culture Obi-Wan Kenobi: A New Jedi or a New Sith in the Star Wars Universe?

The Obi-Wan Kenobi series is eagerly awaited by fans of the Star Wars saga. Expected for next year on Disney +, the series is revealed little by little …

There is no trailer for the Obi-Wan Kenobi series yet. Above, a trailer for Star Wars: The Bad Batch, already available on Disney +.

Sung Kang, actor playing Han Lue in the saga Fast and Furious, told the site Screen Rant his impressions after filming in the series Obi-Wan Kenobi, which will air on Disney + next year. The name and nature of his character are not yet known, but he has given important clues as to what he might be. Indeed, during his interview, on the occasion of a promotion for Fast and Furious 9, he stated :

I used to dress up in cheap Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader Halloween costumes pretty much every day from the age of eight to thirteen. My friends and I were playing pretend, we made our own lightsabers with cylinders of toilet paper, paper towels, stuff like that. To have the chance to be on a film set with Darth Vader and the Star Wars Universe in front of me… As a fan, to have the opportunity to be part of this story is something amazing. I kept pinching myself wondering “But how did I get here?” And my character has a lightsaber, I was like “What? This … This is not a toy. This is the real one, eh?” So that was pretty cool.

However, the story of the series takes place after Order 66. We know that a few Jedi knights survived it (like Obi-Wan Kenobi, Master Yoda, Ahsoka Tano, Ezra Bridger, Kanan Jarrus, etc …), as well as servants of the dark side like Lord Darth Vader, Inquisitors, etc … Cinelinx declared some time ago that Sung Kang would interpret the Fifth Brother of the Inquisitors. He would be on the hunt, after Order 66, in order to find Obi-Wan and complete the mission to eliminate all Jedi (but also hope to see new ones in the future).

It is also possible that this is a brand new character. But if so, one wonders if it will be of a never-before-seen Jedi, of a Sith (quite unlikely though, Darth Vader and Darth Sidious being alive, and as Yoda would say: “Always in pairs they go. No more no less. The master and his apprentice.“) or another servant of the dark side … He could also to have taken someone’s sword, or have it lent.

Obi-Wan Kenobi will be released during the year 2022 on Disney +, after The Book of Boba Fett in December 2021 and Andor in 2022, both of the Disney + series.
