A Nantes player suffered a heart attack on Thursday during a training session.
The preparation of the derby to be disputed on the lawn ofAngers, Sunday, suddenly became secondary for the FC Nantes. The Loire club was indeed struck by a tragedy on Thursday: a player from the reserve team suffered a heart attack during the training session of the group led by Stéphane Ziani and was placed in a artificial coma.
“Yesterday (Thursday) afternoon during the training of the group N2 a player of the workforce suffered from discomfort during the session. Taken care of very quickly, he is currently hospitalized, thus informed the FCN. FC Nantes gives all its support to the player as well as to his family and loved ones. ”
The game of the reserve, scheduled for this Saturday afternoon against Andrézieux as part of the 7e National day 2, has been postponed. Present at a press conference two days before the derby against Angers, Alban Lafont expressed his emotion. “We have a big thought for the player of our N2 who had a discomfort in training. We all hope that he will recover as soon as possible ”, he confided.
