Despite a big victory in the Champions League, Citizens supporters did not appreciate Pep Guardiola’s statement against them.
For his first Champions League match, Manchester City scored the blow, six times rather than once. Victorious 6-3, at home against RB Leipzig, five different Cityzens scored a goal (Aké, Mahrez, Grealish, Cancelo and Jesus). Facing them, it was Nordi Mukiele who, unhappy, scored the second goal of the match against his side, before the former Parisian Christopher Nkunku did not frame the only three German strikes of the match to score a hat-trick.
But the controversy does not lie on the facts of the game. Following this meeting at the Etihad Stadium, Pep Guardiola sent a message to the spectators, who picked it up.
Guardiola, stay in your place!
The lack of support from his audience has apparently affected the Spanish technician. He made it clear at the end of the match by asking the supporters to come to the stadium in greater numbers. For the reception in Leipzig, the Ethiad Stadium welcomed 38,000 spectators, with a maximum capacity of 54,000 seats.
This statement had the effect of infuriating City fans. the Daily Mirror even reports that a group of supporters responded to the coach by asking him to take care of his players and not the filling rate of the stadium. One hell of a communication error on Guardiola’s part.
