It’s official: Mike James (31 years old, 1.85 m) lands on the Rock. A time coveted by the Lakers, the American star joined Monaco. The former player of CSKA Moscow and the Brooklyn Nets will receive the highest salary in the history of the French Championship.
Mike James (31 years old, 1.85m), it’s done. The American star puts his bags down in Monaco, where he will become the highest paid player in the history of the French Championship (he will receive nearly a million euros per year under his new colors). After having enlisted Will Thomas from Zénit Saint-Petersburg, the Monegasque leaders signed a huge blow with the reinforcement of the leader-back born in Portland and who had finished top scorer in the Euroleague with CSKA Moscow, where James spent two seasons before joining the Brooklyn Nets last April to bolster the title contender as the play-offs approach. Author of 8 points and 4 average assists in the regular season, the American had then more or less disappeared from the rotation of the Nets, limited to 11 minutes of play only for 4 points and 2 rebounds. And while he officially terminated his contract at CSKA, the Lakers also seemed on the spot. It was ultimately the Roca Team that hit the jackpot.

Top Euroleague scorer in 2019-2019!
The 31-year-old American leader (or rear), passed through Vitoria, Panathinaikos, Milan or even CSKA Moscow where he averaged 17.7 points last season (he was one of the top three scorers in the Euroleague the last three years and was even the top scorer of the event in 2018-19), also played 36 NBA regular season games, with Phoenix, New Orleans and Brooklyn. James joined the Nets in April 2021 and has played 13 games, averaging 7.7 points, 4.2 assists and 2.4 rebounds for Kevin Durant, James Harden and Kyrie Irving.
Mike James will play in #BetclicELITE.

He then played nine play-off games, until elimination against Milwaukee. With the arrival of this highly coveted leader who will obviously be number 1 in the Principality, Monaco can hope to compete with ASVEL. With the reinforcements of Victor Wenbanyama, Kostas Antetokounmpo and Elie Okobo, the champions of France will however have solid arguments to oppose to the Roca Team and its new star.
