Sword Art Online Movie: Progressive – Aria of a Starless Night is an animated film that will be released at the end of October in Japan. Its official trailer has just been unveiled.
This new trailer highlights Asuna’s relationship, the heroine of the film, and Mito, the original character of this opus. Based on light novels Sword Art Online: Progressive, which reboots SAO. As a reminder, this is the second film in the franchise, after Sword Art Online The Movie: Ordinal Scale, which took place between two seasons of the animated series.
So the story begins, being a reboot, at the start of the SAO incident when 10,000 people get stuck in an MMO. Kirito and Asuna, the two protagonists of the story, must therefore survive, complete quests and dungeons in order to advance. The film thus covers the events of the first floor of Aincrad. The film will also focus more on Asuna than Kirito, bringing additional elements compared to the first season from the anime.
Sword Art Online Movie: Progressive – Aria of a Starless Night premieres in Japan on October 30, following the film’s soundtrack release on October 29.
