Despite the large victory won by Manchester City on Wednesday against Leipzig (6-3), Pep Guardiola blew in the bronchi of Riyad Mahrez and Jack Grealish.
Yes the PSG was struggling, in Bruges, for his entry into the Champions League, having to settle for a poor draw (1-1), Manchester City, the other big favorite of Group A and the Champions League, showed a whole different face. Opposed to Leipzig, the Citizens offered a real offensive recital with a 6-3 victory to say the least impressive.
Pep Guardiola was not however fully convinced by the performance of his troops. This is obviously the fault of the three goals conceded, all the work of Christopher Nkunku. The Catalan technician did not wait for the end of the meeting and the privacy of the locker room to point the finger at certain defensive largesse of his players. As evidenced by the soaps passed at Riyad Mahrez and Jack Grealish, the Mancunian coach seeming to be particularly virulent with the two men.

Riyad Mahrez: ⚽️It doesn’t matter how well you’re playing, if you don’t do your defensive duties Pep Guardiola will tell you all about it 😤#UCL pic.twitter.com/f9ZQFxaq4w

« We had talked at halftime about what we had to do and they didn’t, Pep Guardiola justified after the meeting. Arguments do happen. “His players, who both went from their goal during the evening, did not seem to hold it against him. ” It’s just defensive work. I can’t go into too much detail because he might want to implement the same tactic on the weekend. That’s the way he is, he always wants more, defensively and offensively. And of course, he’s someone I listen to, after all he’s accomplished in football ”, thus explained Jack Grealish, author of a new great performance for his baptism in the Champions League.
