News culture Dune: an additional behind-the-scenes look at the film ahead of its release
From tomorrow, science fiction fans will have the opportunity to go to dark rooms to see the new film adaptation of the literary work Dune, a true monument of the genre. For the occasion, Warner teases us once again his latest film.
After a relatively generous first making-of allowing to learn more about the Dantesque production of this new project, Dune shows himself a little more through this last video where the main actors have the opportunity to talk about the characters they play and their relationship. Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya respectively interpret the roles of Paul and Chani, main characters of this adaptation.
It has always been a question of great ambitions about the film adaptation of Dune, but also of searing failures. After Alejandro Jodorowsky’s aborted project (the why and how is told in the excellent documentary Jodorowsky’s Dune) and the film denied by David Lynch, the universe created by Frank Herbert has never really been able to impose itself on our screens. However, Warner intends to change the situation with the release this Wednesday of this new attempt at adaptation, this time led by Denis Villeneuve. The director is not his first attempt with science fiction and the big names in the genre since he made Blade Runner 2049, a risky bet at the time that had finally paid off. As for Dune, spectators can very quickly form their own opinion.
Dune officially releases tomorrow, Wednesday September 15, in theaters.
