News hardware iPhone 13: 1TB storage space on Pro models becomes clearer
While Apple’s keynote takes place tomorrow, Tuesday, September 14, the presence of increased storage space for all iPhone 13 models seems to be confirmed. Pros should go up to 1TB.
Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, specializing in Apple products, disseminates new information from sources close to the firm just hours before a new keynote is held. According to his words reported by
9to5Mac, iPhone 13 will benefit from variants with more storage space.
Goodbye 64 GB, hello 1 TB
Thus, the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Mini should be available in versions equipped with a storage space of 128, 256 or 512 Go. This sidelines the 64 GB version in favor of a new 512 GB for both models: an amount of gigabytes hitherto reserved for Pro models. And the latter, precisely, would also be entitled to an additional version: the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max would thus be announced in capacities of 128, 256, 512 Go et 1 To. This would be the first time that an iPhone would be entitled to a 1TB version.
A success already acquired for the iPhone 13?
These storage changes could impact the production rate of the iPhone 13 lineup, information that is in line with previous rumors on the subject. Nevertheless, Ming-Chi Kuo adds that “This should have a limited impact on iPhone 13 shipments. We believe iPhone 13 shipments in 2021 are expected to be 10% more than iPhone 12 shipments in 2020.”
As a reminder, Apple’s iPhone 13 announcement keynote will take place Tuesday September 14 from 7 p.m., and it will be to follow on Diraxe.com.
